  • Dr.
    Monica Moore
    Owner Veterinarian

    Monica Moore, DVM was raised in Douglass, Kansas and has always had a passion for animals. She attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She came to Herndon Veterinary Clinic after working for five years at a small animal practice in a suburb of Kansas City. Monica is very close to her family and that was the reason that she and her husband Kyle moved back to the Wichita area. She started working as the managing doctor at Herndon Veterinary Clinic in August 2008 and did so until 2017 when Dr. Moore and her sister, Dr. Horn purchased Herndon Veterinary Clinc.  Her primary interests include general and preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry and behavior. She is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys working with an amazing group of people including her sister Dr. April Horn. 'I am blessed to get to do a job that I love every day', she says. Monica has four wonderful children, Katelyn, Andrew, Kyler and Madison. As busy as family and work keep her, she also manages to care for nine cats, five dogs and three horses. She enjoys spending time with her family and coworkers while also coaching her children's' sport teams.

    April Horn
    Owner Veterinarian

    April Horn, DVM grew up in Douglass Kansas. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Southwestern University in 2004. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in a mixed animal practice in Augusta before joining Herndon Veterinary Clinic in 2009 and then purchasing the practice with her sister, Dr. Moore in 2017. Her primary interests include general and preventative medicine, surgery and behavior. She is a member of the  Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. April and her husband Josh have 2 kids, Reese and Lane.  They also have three dogs (Molly, Bandit and Samson), two cats (Bobcat and Grey.)  Dr. Horn is very close to her family; in fact, her oldest sister, Dr. Monica Moore, encouraged her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine so that they could work together. April also enjoys going to church, playing sports, going to the lake, and playing the piano.

    Carissa Huebert
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Huebert grew up in the small town of Ingalls, KS. where she developed her love of animals through 4-H and family pets.  She attended Tabor College for her undergraduate degree and then graduated with her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2009 from Kansas State University.  Dr. Huebert practiced in Western Kansas for 6 years before moving further east and serving as a relief Veterinarian for practices in Wichita and Central Kansas.  Relief work allowed her to observe and practice a variety of diagnostics and treatment options.  Her favorite part of veterinary medicine she learned, was surgery. Dr. Huebert joined Sisters Veterinary Clinic in 2015.  She is a member of the AVMA and  KVMA. When not caring for your furry family members, she enjoys spending time with her 4 human children, dogs, cats and several chickens.  She also enjoys being active in her church, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.   

  • Dr. Sammi Prester-Snapp
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Sammi Prester is a Midwest girl with a flare for the exotic.  Dr. Prester grew up in Salina, KS with a dream of becoming a veterinarian.  Her dream has come true and she is living it to the fullest.  During her time in vet school, Dr. Prester traveled to Thailand to assist in veterinary care for for elephants.  So if you have an elephant that needs attention, she's your doctor.  But she also loves working with dogs and cats, Dr. Prester graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at K-State in 2020 and over the last several years, Dr. Prester has proven herself to be an amazing veterinarian with strong surgical skills and a keen ability to evaluate medical cases.   Have no doubt that Dr. Prester will provide wonderful care as well as knowledgeable recommendations for your pets.   Dr. Prester is a member of the KVMA and AVMA. When not at work, Dr. Prester who is now Dr. Prester-Snapp, enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs Maple (Goldendoodle) and Bailey (lab.)
